4 year PhD position in Department of Earth Science, Durham University in partnership with BP - "Understanding Enhanced Oil Recovery in UK reservoirs". The work will involve both experimental (chemical force microscopy), and theoretical (molecular dynamics) approaches.

The project is a part of NERC Doctoral Training and the student will receive 20 week bespoke residential training of broad relevance to the oil and gas industry. The supervisory team in Durham has expertise in of enhanced oil recovery; carbonate geochemistry, chemical force microscopy, MD simulations. In addition the project has strong connections with the Enhanced Oil Recovery Technology Flagship group at BP.
