Ph.D. opportunity with full scholarship available at Nanyang Technological University

Ph.D. Studentship: Drug delivery using carbon nanotubes

Applications are invited for a four-year Ph.D. studentship in School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of Nanyang Technological University, offering full costs including a 4-year scholarship and tuition fees. The project concerns the computational modelling of carbon nanotubes as drug delivery device. The research produced in this programme will investigate the physical mechanism of drug release, nano-mechanical properties, nano-microstructural changes, as well as numerical issues of the employed simulation methods. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to get involved with the state-of-the-art computational techniques, molecular dynamics in particular, as well as with high-performance parallel computing facilities.

Requirements:

* Good Upper Second or First Class degree either in material science, physics, or engineering
* Proficiency in FORTRAN and / or C computer language
* Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential
* Knowledge of molecular dynamics simulation methods and message passing interface is advantageous
* TOEFL score of 570 and above
* GRE score of 1200 and above
