The Electrochemical Energy, Catalysis, and Materials Engineering Group of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Berlin Institute of Technology (Technische Universitaet Berlin, Germany) seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the field of electrochemical energy storage, in particular water electrolysis. Research will focus on the synthesis, physicochemical and electrochemical characterization of advanced nanostructured water splitting electrocatalysts.

Methoden:
The ideal candidate for this position holds a PhD degrees in Chemistry, or in Chemical or Materials Science and Engineering, is a self-driven individual with a strong publication history. The position is available mid 2012 for up to 3 years.

Beyond experimental lab work, tasks will involve the generation of written progress reports to the project sponsor and the advising of PhD students. Hands-on experience with inorganic materials synthesis, X-ray and electron based materials characterization as well as general electrochemistry, voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy are key prerequisites.
