The protoganist goes on a space mission to repair an ailing satellite. While he is at it parking his spacecraft away from the satellite, it is shot down by a spy satellite. How he manages to return to Earth is the story.
Emerging science like nano science and tech may well be used in space shuttle, satellite constructions in future.
