Modern Sensors, Transducers and Sensor Networks

Dear Colleague !

Before the new issue of IFSA Newsletter (ISSN 1726-6017), No.5, May 2012 it is my great
pleasure to introduce new book Series 'Advances in Sensors: Reviews'. Why new book series ?
Perhaps you remember the popular, thirteen volume book Series 'Sensors Update' published
by John Wiley & Sons. Unfortunately, the last volume has been published in 2003. But sensor
science and industry are developing very quickly. In order to fill this gap, the new book
Series 'Advances in Sensors: Reviews' has been started by the IFSA Publishing.

It is not a secret that any new research and development are started from a state-of-the-art
review. Such review is one of the most labor- and time-consuming part of research and new
projects, especially in such high technological areas as sensors, MEMS, NEMS and
measurements. It is strongly necessary to take into account and reflect in the review the
current stage of development, including existing sensing principles, methods of measurements,
technologies and devices.

The firs volume published 15 May 2012 is entitled 'Modern Sensors, Transducers and
Sensor Networks' and contains dozen collected sensor related, advanced state-of-the-art
reviews written by international experts from academia and industry and includes current
developments in sensing nanomaterials, technologies, design, synthesis, modeling and
applications of MEMS sensors, transducers and wireless sensor networks, signal detection
and advanced signal processing, as well as new sensing principles and methods of
measurements.

This book Series ensures that PhD students and researchers will stay at the cutting edge of the field
and get the right and effective start point and road map for the further researches and developments.
By this way, they will be able to save more time for productive research activity and eliminate routine
work.

More details about this book are available at

I hope you will enjoy it.

With best wishes,
Sincerely,

Prof. Sergey Y. Yurish,
