As part of the 3rd international conference i-SUP2012 (Innovation for Sustainable Production), held in Bruges from May 6-9, 2012, this congress aims at beknopte uitleg thema.
The unique set-up of this conference brings together scientists, entrepreneurs, engineers, and students from universities on 7 distinct but well interrelated congresses. The conference concept and the stimulating atmosphere of the historic Old Saint-John's Hospital in Bruges provide a unique opportunity for participants to learn in many ways.
- By freely attending presentations from the other congresses;
- Through dedicated key note and invited speakers that provide an overview on the different themes:
- Key note: Marc Van Sande, Umicore, Belgium,"Metal-based materials: a resource efficient approach";
- Invited Additive Manufacturing: Christopher Tuck, Univ. Loughbourough, UK, "Additive Manufacturing, a Route for Sustainable Manufacturing?";
- Invited Surface Engineering: Lars Pleth Nielsen, DTI, Denmark, "Solution driven R&D of novel nanostructured coatings meeting industrial demands";
- Invited Micro- And Nanopowders: Marc Leparoux, EMPA, CH, "Inductively coupled thermal plasma: a flexible tool for the synthesis and the in-flight functionalization of nanoparticles";
- Invited Catalyst Systems: Guy B. Marin, Ghent University, Belgium, "New catalysts and materials: bridging the gap between the molecule and the chemical plant";
- Invited Plasma Enhanced Catalysis: Christopher Whitehead, Univ. Manchester, UK, "Plasma catalysis for the treatment of gases";
- Invited Membrane Systems: Wim G. Haije, ECN, The Netherlands, "The right metal hydride for dense H2 membrane applications: a needle in a hay stack".
- By being one of the authors of an exciting oral or poster presentation;
- By encouraging interactive discussions on the integration of the 5 subthemes of this Towards CO2 neutral energy systems in urban environments congress
- From other participants during the attractive social program and the other plenary sessions.
