Dr. Eduard Gubelin Association for Research & Identification of Precious Stones has invited applications for Dr. Eduard Gubelin research scholarship for students pursuing their Master of Science (M.Sc)/Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) and post doctoral programs in the fields of Earth Sciences (Mineralogy, Geology, Geochemistry), Crystallography, Chemistry, Physics, Material Sciences, Archaeology, Biology, and related fields for the session 2014.

Scholarship Details:

The overall annual value of the scholarship is CHF 30,000 (USD 33,000). The available funds are split into three areas:
To cover costs and expenses directly related to the project, including travel and accommodation costs of the successful recipient.
Costs related to the use of the infrastructure, analytical equipment and other resources of the Gubelin Gem Lab, as well as costs relating to the publication of the Results of the project.
A cash contribution paid directly to the successful recipient. The Association shall not be liable for social security costs.

Eligibility:

The minimum requirement for applicants is a B.Sc degree in Earth Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Material Sciences, or another exact Science.
The successful recipient of the grant, i.e. the applicant, must be a person, not an institution or company. However, applicants are encouraged to submit project proposals that involve collaboration with a university or another research institute.

Age limit:

Applicants should not be more than 40 years of age. Applicants of any nationality can apply for the scholarship.
