In our Institute of Polymer Research in Geesthacht new membranes and membrane processes for the separation of materials are developed. We have an extensive and modern facility in the field of microscopy, polymer synthesis, polymer characterization, mechanical testing, processing and membrane technology.

For the range of morphological characterization of polymeric materials and membranes, we are looking at the earliest date - initially limited to two years - for a

Chemist, Physicist, Materials Scientist or engineer (Bachelor) (m/f)
or an experienced technical assistant (m/f) with emphasis in the natural sciences

Content of work:

  • Preparation of samples for atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy including the preparation of sample carriers, making of polymer solutions, spin coating, ultra-thin cutting, cryopreparation, coating of samples with conductive films
  • Performing measurements with an atomic force microscope, scanning electron microscope and light microscope
  • Analysis of results and preparation of reports
  • Supervision of equipment infrastructure of the work group

Your professional profile:

  • A bachelor degree in a materials science discipline or a technical vocational training in the field of natural sciences
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in the techniques described
  • A very good command of German and English, spoken and written
  • Experience in the development and testing of new labor-technical processes would be beneficial.
