The University of Missouri is seeking an Assistant Research Professor for the Center for Physical and Power Electronics, School of Engineering (http://cppe1.missouri.edu). This is a non-tenure track, non-ranked teaching/research position that will have an emphasis in the field of advanced materials development for pulsed power applications. Specific questions regarding this position can be addressed by contacting Vicki Edwards at 573-884-9183. Qualifications Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Physics. The position requires interdisciplinary experience in the fields of electrical engineering and materials science. Electrical engineering experience should include pulsed power, power electronics, and high-powered microwaves. Materials science experience should include composites, nanotechnology, dielectrics and magnetic materials. Experimental modeling capabilities with CST Studio and MATLAB is helpful. Should also have experience with high voltage systems, antenna measurement, materials characterization and basic programming and machining/prototyping abilities. Familiarity with the operations of university and government funded programs required, as well as the ability to manage people and to mentor students on both the undergraduate and graduate level.
