The candidate should have a PhD’s degree in chemistry, speciality: nanotechnology

The candidate should have an experience in research work in the field of nanotechnology, especially in nanomaterials issues (synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials; synthesis, characterization and modification of metallic and ceramic nanoparticles; chemical modification of metallic nanoparticles surface; preparation of ceramic nanocomposites). The candidate should be able to perform nanoparticles size measurement and analyze obtained result based on techniques: atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), UV-Vis spectroscopy, FT-IR, AAS. Also required are: the ability to write scientific papers in the field of nanotechnology, participation in scientific conferences and confirmed experience in the implementation of at least two research projects. The candidate should also be an author of at least five scientific publications in journals of Philadelphia list in the field of nanomaterials. In addition, the fluency in English is also required.


Persons joining the competition should submit an application for employment addressed to HM Rector of the University of Lodz, along with the attachments listed below:
- personal questionnaire
- CV
- a statement that the University of Lodz will be his/her main place of work in the meaning of the above mentioned Act
- information concerning the level of knowledge of foreign languages
- a list of past achievements (publications) and participation in scientific conferences
Final results will be announced on 18.06.2014 r.
