Unexpected Electronic Properties of Micrometer-Thick Supracrystals of Au Nanocrystals

We investigated the electronic properties of highly ordered three-dimensional colloidal crystals of gold nanocrystals (7 ± 0.4 nm), called supracrystals. Two kinds of Au supracrystals with typical thicknesses of 300 nm and 5 μm, respectively, are probed for the first time with scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy at 5 K revealing similar power law behavior and showing homogeneous conductance with the fingerprint of isolated nanocrystal. Potential applications evading the…

Nano-structured biomaterials serve as a foundation for human systems of physical world perception

Outer physical world exists in the form of electromagnetic field and matter. The field quanta and molecules of the matter influence the receptor layers of human sensor systems; and this influence transforms into electric signals which are transmitted to the central nervous system for processing. It is possible…

Nanodimensional carbonic coatings were modified in Belgorod

All contemporary microelectronics is based on utilization of single-crystalline silicon, and it is unlikely that any other semiconductor will be able to supplant it in near future. During the past few years, researchers at Belgorod State University  (BelGU) have been investigating properties of carbonic coatings applied upon silicon. Such coatings enable to make the material harder and more resistant to mechanical failure. Besides, the…

Magazine on Nano Science and Technology

The basic question that many close friends asked was “Why magazine on Nano Science & Tech?”, while others warmly welcomed the idea.

My answer would be not just “Why not?” but as I had mentioned after long deliberations and meetings with people we thought it would apt to have a magazine on this subject since it is the future technology and will transform the lives of people.

There are two important people who actually directly and indirectly have made me look at this… Continue

Welcome - about us

Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.

There is only one important assumption: you have to be interested in nano!

Nanopaprika is always looking for new partners, if you have any idea, contact me at editor@nanopaprika.eu
