  • thanks for the info
  • Dear Professor ( Editor of Nanotech ),

Thank you for your invitation to talk a little about the status of nanotech in our country, Ethiopia.

As you know Africa as a whole  is not as such advanced in science in general and in nanoscience in particular. But, currently the government of Ethiopia has a shown a very wonderful interest in science &and technology  and particularly in nanoscience, biotechnology, materials science, genetic engineering, biomedical energineering, renewable energy etc. Ethiopia has been also  the first African country and second to China in the world list to participate more students ( more than 450) in the Erasmus Mundus ( European top level) academic programme. So,  we can not say this much has done in nanoscience in our country  so far except some works that are being done at Addis Ababa university in the area of solar energy and polymer science. However, now we are highly motivated and determined to quickly introduce it in all the academic levels and establish a separate central laboratory for it. Currently  we are preparing the concept note for the establishment of a central national laboratory and probably we will also organize one nanoscience event, whcih we strongly believe our government will support it as it is doing currently though its embassies in Europe.

So it is with great respect to express our thanks for the nanoscience community in general and the editor in particular and we will see soon nanoscience contributing a lot to the betterment of life for Ethiopians.

Will come with more updates soon

  • Can you add any information about nanotech in Ethiopia. It will be really interesting to read about nanotech in your country.

  • Dear Gebrie,

Really u are smart enough. Thank you for your invitation.

  • Thank you Professor and with our highly motivated Erasmus Mundus  Ethiopian students and others and more importantly with the Nanoscience community, we will realize it. We greately thank you for your invaluable and great work.
  • good,

    nono in ETHIOPIA

    that is the future
