    I used the simplest method which is arc discharge method but you can use also Chemical vapor deposition but you have to have a furnace for it and you but your sample into a tube and when condense it they all stuck on the sample and they are your CNTs but sometime you have just nanoparticles you have to look into them by SEM, TEM, AFM...
    Arc discharge is simplest as ı said: ıf you have a power suppy and graphite you used power supply as a n cathode and the graphite side is your anode and you apply a field and your graphite become CNTs ,as expected, and they are falling into the water (you can see my lab pictures here they are all arc discharge method
