  • Halllo Dr.Csontos,
I am working in GaN nano wires and quantum dots. I came to know that your research field is also QD.could you please telll me in which material are you working?thanks & Regards

  • Dear Sir / Madam,

I am Prashant Kumar, submitting my Ph. D thesis in December 2008 at university of Hyderabad, India. My Ph. D is in a nanotechnology topic “novel non-lithographic techniques for surface nanostructuring of thin films and bulk wafer surfaces”.

I have experience of various thin films coating techniques viz. evaporation, DC/RF sputtering, ion beam sputtering and pulsed laser deposition. I have synthesized nanodots and nanowires and various nanostructured surfaces and I have looked into its optical, photoluminescence, transport and magnetic properties.

Among nanostructured surface what I have studied are, silicon wafer, germanium wafer, graphite, borosilicate glass and alumina. All of these have several photovoltaic, chemical sensors, DNA detection, tissue culturing and other biomedical applications.

Apart from various thin film coating techniques and nanoparticle synthesis, I have hands on experiences on atomic force microscope, scanning electron microscope, confocal microscope, spectrophotometer, surface profilometer, x-ray diffractometer, vibrating sample magnetometer, Hall Effect set-up and Magneto resistance measurements etc.

Apart from nanowire and nanodots synthesis and its various applications, my other interests include solar cell / corrosion resistant / better adhesive applications of nanostructured surfaces, catalytic activity of nanoparticles, and bio-medical applications of nanoparticles. Further, I am open to other related topics or any topic related to applications of nanotechnology/materials science.

Please find in my page on this site my details of experiences and publications.
I hereby would like to request you to inform me of post-doctoral post as and when it develops in your laboratory or elsewhere.

    Thanking you.

    Prashant Kumar
  • dear prof/reseracher, Its prashant kumar, submitting my ph.d thesis on non-lithographic techniques of surface nanostructuring in december 2008 at university of hyderabad. I have experience of thin film coating, synthesis of nanowires, nanodots and characterization by AFM, SEM, VSM, PL spectra, MR measurements, surface plasmons etc and I seek post-doctoral post and for that I require your help, plz. convey to me if you find anything interesting. or else plz. advise how to get into the groove.I can work towards materials science, engineering, chemical engineering, biomedical applications of nanoparticles, memory application of nanodots etc or any industrial applications of nanoparticles, nanodots or nanowires.
  • hi Miklos,
Have you heard or read anything about Toyota's patent granted in EU, US and Australia for a 'quantum motor' design?
It appears to be the kind of thing that is your area of expertise. It appears most principle researchers are working out of The Netherlands. If you wish any info please feel free to let me know. I have dissected the patent info quite throughly. I'd really like to ask you your thoughts on domainless based magnetics. Also would like to ask you about applications using hexagonal well/holes and if this might be favorable to controlling spin. The Toyota application calls for transparent materials where most interaction is in the subsurface.
    Anytime you have the time.
    Best always,
    david aka docdeal
  • Hi Dr. Csonto's,
Thanks for accepting my invite. I noticed you work with QDs. Interesting isn't it?
