toxicity in nanoparticles

Dear all,              I'm a research student in MKU.I'm working in natural product chemistry.I want to know whether the binding of metal nanoparticles could create toxicity in DNA.If toxicity occurs, can we uncouple the toxicity by binding the nanoparticles and DNA with secondary metabolites.Pls tell about the reference papers and the possible techniques.

do we really need to use surfactant for nanotoxicology study

I am working for my PhD in Nanotoxicology from University of Calcutta. I have a query regarding nanotoxicology study. In many papers i have seen researchers using surfactant to prevent nanomaterials from being aggregated. But is that really needed?? I guess nanomaterials once inside the system would also agglomerate as it has its inherent property to do so under physiological conditions. And moreover if we consider an aquatic environment it would form aggregate there also, so why are we more…

2010 To Be a Busy Year for Regulation of Nanotechnology

On April 15th congressional leaders were busyannouncing legislation to tighten chemical regulatory policy in the U.S.The House of Representatives released a discussion draft of legislationto revise the Toxic Substances Control Act while the Senate released adraft bill to enact changes to the primary chemical control law that hasbeen in effect since 1976. The draft legislation would appear to steeraway from nano-specific regulations but many of the proposed changeswill deeply impact the…
