Synthesis and Characterization of Cadmium Sulfide (CdS) Thin Film by Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) Technique

Abstract: Nanocrystalline Cadmium sulphide (CdS) semiconductors have attracted much attention due to their novel properties and varieties of promising potentials in extensive applications. In this work we deposited CdS thin films on the Indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass via cyclic voltammetry (CV) technique with different deposition time. The structural characterization done by XRD. The transmittance spectra were recorded using UV-VIS spectrometer and from the UV-Vis spectra we have calculated the band gap energy of the CdS thin films which was varied from 2.92eV to 2.28eV for the variation of deposition time.
