Abstract: H-ZSM-5 materials embedded in an amorphous silica matrix have been successfully synthesized with different mesoporgen (ZSM5-free and ZSM5-directed) techniques, with Si/Al ratio =50. The synthesized ZSM5-free and -directed structures have been confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), and solid-state-nuclear magnetic resonance (SSNMR) techniques. The morphology and textural properties of the samples were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and N2-physisorption. Both ZSM5-free and -directed were tested in methanol-to-olefin (MTO) reaction at high reaction temperature 500oC. Interestingly, the ZSM5-directed offered high selectivity to propylene 61% and long lifetime (20 h), in comparison to the ZSM-free deactivated after half an hour.
