Abstract: In the present work, the suitability of Zeamays (corn) peel extract as a green reducing agent has been investigated for the reduction of graphene oxide(GO). The graphene oxide, synthesized using the modified Hummer’s method, was reduced in situ in presence of corn peel extract without external stabilizers. The method finds the development of a new eco-friendly method for successfully converting graphene oxide into reduced graphene oxide (rGO). The physical and chemical properties of prepared rGO was investigated using UV-Visible Spectrophotometry, FT-IR Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM) and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy(EDS). The present work has described a green facile synthesis of rGO by using naturally occurring agricultural waste.
