The present work reports the chemical oxidative synthesis of polyaniline by reacting aniline with ammonium persulphate in the presence of 1M H2SO4. The conformation of PANI was done by Raman spectroscopy, FTIR and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy. Morphology was studied by scanning electron microscope. The electrochemical studies of PANI were carried out using cyclic voltammetry in 1M KOH electrolyte. PANI showed specific capacitance of 244F/g at a scan rate of 20mV/s. Electrochemical Impedance spectroscopy provides the series resistance (Rs) and Charge transfer resistance (Rct) to be 4.8 ohm and 205.6 ×10-3 ohm respectively.
