  • Hi Dhaval,

Well firstly, nanotechnology is a research field, so cannot expect a career/ job in nano industry right after our masters, considering nano industry in India is still in budding stage;  But, Ph.D. is a right choice for nano; May be in this decade, we would see a lot of opportunities for nano graduates.

  • where ever you study nanotechnology but first check the value of course. I had completed my M.Sc. Nanotechnology Material Science with first rank from Maharaja University of Baroda. but no carrier no placements. I had joined PhD at CARUSAT university.

  • The best place in India to study Nanotechnology is
Centre for Converging Technologies (CCT), University of Rajasthan (UOR), Jaipur, India.

Nanotechnology itself is no technology. The applications of quantum science and nanoscale phenomena when applied to a broader range of areas like chemistry, biology, biomedical engg., information technology, cognitive and neurosciences, etc. culminates in several technologies and concepts which fall under the umbrella of Nanotechnology.

So, if you are looking to study nanotechnology at a place where you can acquire knowledge and hands-on skills in a broader spectrum of areas (which would open up myriad opportunities for your future research work), then CCT, UOR is the place for you!

Further you could specialize in one of the four streams offered at CCT-

    1. Nanotehcnology and Nanomaterials
    2. Biotechnology and Bioinformatics
    3. Information and Communication Technology
    4. Cognitive and Neurosciences

This diverse curriculum is very challenging and incoming students are chosen after rigorous scrutiny. Once you are in, the excellent faculty and constructive learning environment makes the challenging curriculum easy to pursue and much fun! CCT is truly amazing!

CCT graduates are highly valued all over the globe. Most of the CCT graduates are pursuing research in the premier Indian research institutes like IISc, IIT's, NIMHANS, CSIR- NCL, NPL, CSIRO, etc. Nearly a quarter of CCT graduates are pursuing research at premier institutes in USA, UK, Italy, Israel, Ireland etc. A few graduates have taken up entrepreneurship and have started up their own companies, some nanotechnology based companies while others in Information Technology business. Others have joined multinational companies working in R&D. The success that these students have achieved has created a demand for CCT graduates in academia and in industry. So if you are also awaiting a shining career in Nanotechnology, CCT is the place to start off at.

CCT also has collaborations with world renowned institutions like RMIT, Australia and USC, Los Angeles, USA. This gives you the opportunity to collaborate with the best of the best for your nanotechnology research.
