functional nanoparticles in biotechnology - enabled by laser ablation in liquid biomolecule flow

Functional nanoparticles may help to target and sort bovine cells. In this animation, the cell membrane is encountered by a "Trojan horse" made of a cationic cell penetrating peptide and a gene which both are anchored to a gold nanoparticle carrier that brings the bioconjugate to the site inside the cell nucleus. Both molecules require different media and pH, so it would be difficult to simply mix everything. But subsequent addition of the biomolecules to a continuous gold nanoparticle source (with its origin from laser ablation of a wire) flow in water could provide the bivalent gold nanoparticle bioconjugates.

Thank you for reply. is this method is time consuming and cost effective?

Dear Colleagues,

thanks for the feedback and questions!

yes, silver can be fabricated as well. Hovever, as you know, silver slowely dissolutes in water and thiol bond (which is the anchor between nanoparticle and the biomolecule) is weaker compared to gold.

We never tried EC separation. For validation of this method (whoich is still under development, the video is just an animation of the project outline), we fully focus on  reproduction biology.

Regards,

Stephan

simple and novel technology to synthesis but can be synthesis silver nanoparticles using this method?

It is very handy and novel technique. Can you detect and separate out bovine endothalial cells from its mixture of fibroblast cells using this technique?

Very nice.
