In a recently published work ("Facilitation of trace metal uptake in cells by inulin coating of metallic nanoparticles", by Esmeralda Santillán-Urquiza, Fernando Arteaga-Cardona, Cristina Torres-Duarte, Bryan Cole, Bing Wu, Miguel A. Méndez-Rojas, Gary N. Cherr, R. Soc. open sci. 2017 4 170480; DOI: 10.1098/rsos.170480), published today 13 September 2017, our findings on how inulin (a natural polysaccharide) coating of inorganic nanoparticles promotes internalization of coated nanoparticles into mussel's hemocytes, but without any toxicity enhancement. This finding may be of interest for the design of novel nutritional or pharmaceutical approaches where inorganic nanoparticles may be included into food or drug formulations.
Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.
There is only one important assumption: you have to be interested in nano!
Nanopaprika is always looking for new partners, if you have any idea, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
