Professor Apelmeyer's group Quantum Foundations and Quantum Information on the Nano- and Micro-scale as part of Quantum Optics, Quantum Nanophysics and Quantum Information at the Faculty of Physics, University of Vienna, is an ambitious team that conducts internationally successful research in the field of experimental quantum physics. For further reinforcement and strengthening our position as one of the world's best research centres, we are looking for a University Assistant (PostDoc).

- Participation in research, teaching and administration.
- Lead participation in research projects (particularly EU and nationally-funded-projects).
- Contribution to publications / scientific articles.
- Assist in organisation of conferences, meetings and symposiums.
- Publishing and presentation of activities to enhance international expose of research group.
- Project application and (external) fundraising.
- Preparation / finalisation of a (publishable) habilitation.
- Teaching activities and support of students including exanimations.
- Participation in evaluation activities and in quality assurance.
- Provide assistance to group leader in administration of the group.

Additional Requirements

- PhD in physics, technical physics or equivalent qualification with focus on experimental quantum optics.
- Experience in experimental cavity opto-mechanics.
- Strong background in quantum information, in particular entanglement.
- Basic background in solid state physics and cryogenic techniques.
- Experience in teaching / experience in e-learning.
- High command of written and oral English.
- Computer literacy.
- Foreign languages, particularly German an advantage.
- Ability to work in teams.
- Experience in knowledge management, (external) fundraising and university structures and processes would be of great advantage.
