Tenure track position - Ecole Centrale Paris, Paris, France

The successful candidate will be posted at the MSSMAT laboratory (Mécanique Sols, Structures et Matériaux, UMR CNRS 8579) of the mechanical and civil engineering teaching department.

The “Ecole Centrale Paris” trains highly skilled generalist engineers able to carry out scientific or technical innovative projects in an international context. The mechanical and civil engineering teaching department members lecture at all levels of the engineering course as well as in three research masters.

The MSSMAT laboratory carries out experimental research on synthesis, optimization and properties of new innovative materials as well as development of numerical and modelling techniques for mechanics (multi-scale modeling of structures and materials, multi-physics, inverse problems). The materials of interest range from metallic alloys, geo-materials, nanotubes reinforced composites to bio-materials. The laboratory is equipped with a rich set of mechanical testing facilities (high or low temperature, environmental and multiaxial testing) and up to date characterization techniques (electronic microscopy MEB-FEG, FIB Dual Beam, atomic scale resolution MET-FEG, DRX, AFM and nano-indentation).
