Monash University, in Melbourne, Australia, is seeking a research fellow to conduct high-quality research in the development and application of methods to determine atomic structures using convergent beam electron diffraction, scanning transmission electron microscopy and related techniques. The Fellow will work closely with Professor Joanne Etheridge and the research team and instruments at the Monash Centre for Electron Microscopy, which has a first-class suite of instrumentation, including a double-aberration corrected Titan3 80-300kV FEG-TEM.

The successful applicant will have advanced understanding and skills in the theory and application of TEM and a PhD or equivalent qualification. Expertise in at least one of the following is highly desirable: CBED, STEM, aberration corrected microscopy, electron scattering theory and computation.

This role is a full-time 2 year fixed term position, with a possibility of extension to 3 years.
