The postholder will work on a collaborative project between the Nanotechnology and Integrated BioEngineering Centre (NIBEC) and AVX Ltd.

Candidates must have a strong track record in the characterisation of solid state materials using TEM, XRD and other advanced analytical methods. A knowledge and understanding of the role of defects and dopants in controlling the electrical properties of materials is essential.

This project will involve experimental research on the increased reliability and performance of multi-layer ceramic capacitors and will advance knowledge in relation to the fundamental physico-chemical and electronic properties of MLCC materials and devices. (Fixed-term until 31 March 2018)
