Applications are invited for a post-doctoral Teaching Fellow position which is available from May 2014 for five years, to support the EPSRC-funded Cambridge Nano Doctoral Training Centre based across Physics, Chemistry, Materials, and Engineering Departments.

This fully-funded 4-year PhD program in NanoScience and NanoTechnology commenced in 2009, and has now gained follow-on funding for 5 further cohorts from 2014. The programme combines a 1st year of taught Nano courses across Physics, Engineering, Chemistry and Material Science with mini-projects and practical courses on Nano research equipment followed by PhD placement in one of the Nano research groups within the University for further three years. The theme for the whole centre is in the assembly of functional NanoMaterials and NanoDevices, with significant involvement in business innovation and nano-exploitation. The Teaching Fellow will be a key lynchpin supporting the management committee, involved in organising and

delivering teaching and training, organising seminars, events, liasing with industrial partners, and interacting with a wide range of academics and researchers.

The applicant will require a PhD in NanoScience or related areas of science and have experience of teaching and organisation in some capacity. The ability to engage effectively and motivate a talented high-calibre cadre of interdisciplinary PhD students is crucial.
