Closing date: 20 June

The Institute of Biological Chemistry, Biophysics and Bioengineering (IB3) is pleased to announce a 9-month Research Associate tenable at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and funded by the EPSRC Research Council.

IB3 is part of the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Heriot-Watt and is dedicated to interdisciplinary research directed toward applications in the Life Sciences. This newly-created Research Institute (web reference) includes Physicists, Chemists, Engineers and Life Scientists, and has close collaborations with Mathematicians and Life Scientists at Heriot-Watt and Edinburgh Universities.

IB3 holds recent grant awards from UK Research Councils (EPSRC, MRC, BBSRC, STFC), and other awarding bodies such as the Wellcome Trust, Robertson Trust and the European Union.

The purpose of this grant award is to develop and apply easily-used computational systems and software to allow biological microscopists to exploit our newly developed super-resolution imaging methods. This is a collaborative project with Leica Microsystems, with which commercialisation of the software and systems will be actively pursued.
