The School of Humanities and Languages is one of Australia's leading centres of teaching and research excellence in the Humanities and Languages.
UNSW Arts & Social Sciences is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to the social studies of sciences and technologies.
About the role
- Fixed Term for 24 months
- Full-time (35 hours per week)
The role encompasses research interests focused in areas such as science and technology studies, sociology, anthropology, human and political geography, environmental humanities and feminist sociologies of science. The research will focus on the social dimensions of nanotechnology, and specifically the development of novel therapeutic technologies. The research post will form part of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Convergent Bio-Nano Science and Technology.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- PhD in relevant discipline
- An interest in or knowledge of the theoretical debates concerned with the development of novel areas of science and technology and their associated social dimensions together with contemporary policy developments in the regulation and governance of novel areas of science and technology
- Evidence of relevant research experience, particularly using qualitative and ethnographic research methods and analytical skills in the analysis of such research
