We are seeking to appoint a post-doctoral research associate to work on an experimental project involving the development of a novel plasmonics metamaterial system. The post will be within the Experimental Biophysics and Nanotechnology Group in the Department of Physics and will be located at the Strand Campus.

The research work will involve a mixture of activities on nanofabrication and the structural characterisation of nanostructures together with optical measurements in deep ultraviolet, visible and infrared spectral ranges. Additionally, the post may involve the development of new near-field optical instrumentation. Experience in experimental work using focussed ion beam fabrication, optical spectroscopy and scanning near-field optical spectroscopy is essential.
