A postdoctoral research associate position is available in a laboratory led by Prof. Seungpyo Hong in the Department of Biopharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).  We seek a scientist with primary interest in targeted gene delivery using polymeric nanomaterials, particularly for anti-cancer treatments.  

Duties:

The postdoctoral research associate will be expected to work primarily on our project related to the development of targeted gene delivery systems using polymeric nanomaterials, particularly for cancer and/or leukemia. Your responsibilities will be, including but not limited to, designing and carrying out experiments, presenting research results (in the way of oral presentations and manuscripts) and mentoring junior staff and students.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in polymer science, materials science and engineering, bioengineering, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences or other relevant discipline.  Experience in polymer chemistry, nanotechnology and/or cancer research will be considered an advantage.  The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
