Postdoctoral positions in Theoretical Nanoscience are available in the group of Professor Ignacio Franco in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Rochester, Rochester N.Y. The preferred start date is September 2013. Two research directions are open. The first involves theoretical modeling of the ultrafast laser manipulation of electronic properties and dynamics in nanomaterials by means of non-resonant laser fields. A second project concerns the simulation and theoretical description of experiments that integrate single-molecule pulling with molecular electronics. Both projects require strong analytical and computational skills.

To apply, please send an email to franco(a)chem.rochester.edu with short letter of intent, CV (including publications) and contact information for three references.  Past publications and a description of ongoing projects in the group can be found at http://www.chem.rochester.edu/~franco_group

The University of Rochester has a strong commitment to diversity and actively encourages applications from groups underrepresented in higher education. The University is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
