A postdoctoral position in the field of superhydrophobicity is open at Aalto University Department of Applied Physics (Prof. Robin Ras, http://physics.aalto.fi/groups/smw/). The project deals with magnetic droplets and superhydrophobic surfaces.Related work from my group was recently published in Science and in Nature Communications.

The position is connected to the Academy of Finland Center of Excellence on Molecular Engineering of Biosynthetic Hybrid Materials (2014-2019) headed by Academy Professor Olli Ikkala. Other major partners include the groups of Prof. Markus Linder (Biomolecular Materials), Prof. Janne Laine (Forest Products Surface Chemistry) and Prof. Merja Penttilä (VTT Biotechnology). Centres of Excellence are the flagships of Finnish research.

The position is immediately available. Salary is based on the university salary scheme.

REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS

As a successful applicant you should be highly motivated in experimental science and having a background in physics, chemistry, materials science or closely related field. Prior expertise on superhydrophobic research is highly appreciated.
