Postdoctoral position in microstructure analyses of thin films and electrodeposits by electron backscatter diffraction techniques (EBSD)

We are looking for a post-doc qualified in materials science, physics or a related field. Research is conducted in an international environment in cooperation with several industrial and academic partners, with most long-term funding coming from European and national projects.

The successful candidate will assist

• in the development of electron backscatter diffraction techniques in transmission and for strain and stress analyses using cross correlation techniques and
• microstructure analyses of nano-crystalline thin films and electrodeposits. Experience in electron backscatter diffraction techniques and microsctucture analyses is desirable. Knowledge of X-ray diffraction techniques, raman analyses and micromechanics would be an asset.

For successful candidates, a strong interest in working at the cutting edge of experimental science and a high motivation to work in international and multidisciplinary research teams are essential. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential. Knowledge of German and/or French would be advantageous.
