A postdoc position is available within biophysics and drug delivery. The purpose of the position is to characterize the adsorption of proteins to nanoparticles to understand how it affects the efficacy of nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems.

The successful candidate will have a background in experimental biophysics. The project is funded by the Lundbeck Foundation and is part of the Lundbeck Foundation Initiative on Brain Barriers and Drug Delivery. The position is part of the Center for Nanomedicine and Theranostics and the Colloids and Biological Interface group at the Department of Micro and Nanotechnology – DTU Nanotech.

Qualifications
The project is focused on characterization of protein adsorption to nanoparticles to understand its effects on the biological fate of nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems. It is a necessity that the candidate has substantial experience in experimental biophysics. In particular, the candidate should have excessive experience with fluorescence correlation spectroscopy. The candidate should preferentially also have experience with handling of peptides and proteins. Additionally, the candidate should ideally have experience with liposomes, as they are the preferred choice of nanoparticles.

The applicants should hold a PhD degree in the relevant mentioned areas. All applicants should have a strong interest in working experimentally in a cross-disciplinary environment and have very good collaboration skills. Strong communication skills are an advantage and a strong academic record is a requirement. The applicants should strive towards scientific excellence, be ambitious and hard working. Only applicants with great talent and a possibility to be among the brightest in their field will be considered.
