PostDoc (m/f) for Mass Spectrometry-based Proteomics

as soon as possible for a 2-year period (optionally extended).

The group is working on interdisciplinary and highly innovative projects for using nanocarriers as drug delivery devices in conjunction with the University Clinic of Mainz.

Your tasks

  • Implementation of innovative technologies for LC-MS based proteomic quantification employing dedicated sample preparation techniques, e.g. SPE, LLE, protein enrichment and digestion, and the state-of-the art mass spectrometry technology.
  • Set-up of bioanalytical methods qualifying proteins and biomarkers in research projects
  • Development, planning and performance of LC-MS based proteomic analyses
  • Interpretation of proteomics data in collaboration with material scientists
  • Planning and supervision of cell biological/molecular biology work of doctoral students
  • Supervision of work of doctoral students/master/bachelor work in general

Your ideal qualification

  • PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology or an equivalent education
  • Sound knowledge of mass spectrometry and the practical use of LC-MS instrumentation during your doctoral thesis.
  • Hands-on experience in quantitative LC-MS of small molecules, peptides and digested proteins
  • Ability to lead young scientists

Personally you are open to new challenges, flexible in mind and you like to work independently as well as in a team. You are able to analyze and present data in a concise, easy to understand manner und convince others with your excellent communication skills in English language.

Mainz is situated in an attractive place centrally located in Germany near Frankfurt/Main with all it beauties ranging from cultural events to wine production.
