KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm has grown to become one of Europe’s leading technical and engineering universities, as well as a key centre of intellectual talent and innovation. We are Sweden’s largest technical research and learning institution and home to students, researchers and faculty from around the world. Our research and education covers a wide area including natural sciences and all branches of engineering, as well as in architecture, industrial management, urban planning, history and philosophy.

The School of Biotechnology offers a curriculum that reflects the multidisciplinary nature of Biotechnology, integrating theoretical and applied science in undergraduate and graduate courses. The school has six departments with about 300 employees, located at AlbaNova University Center in Stockholm and Science for Life Laboratory in Solna. The Biotechnology research within the school is internationally well recognized.

A Postdoctoral position in Nanobiotechnology focusing on droplet microfluidics is available.

Job description

The research project centers on the development and utilization of droplet microfluidics and soft materials for automation of high throughput single cell analysis and screening workflows with applications in single cell screening for biosustainability and industrial biotechnology.

The project will be run in collaboration with industrial collaborators and the droplet microfluidics research group focusing on single cell analysis for biomedical applications and high throughput screening.

The work is experimental and interdisciplinary and involves design, automation and application of two-phase microfluidics and soft microparticles for single cell analysis. The Postdoctoral researcher will be working at Science for Life Laboratory (www.scilifelab.se), a Swedish national center for large scale life science research using advanced technological infrastructure. SciLifeLab is a center for multidisciplinary research in the life sciences focusing on health and environment.

Qualifications

We are currently looking for a postdoctoral scientist with a background in applied microfluidics, soft materials and bioengineering or single cell analysis.
