The Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (INP Greifswald) is the largest non-university institute in the area of low temperature plasmas in Europe, including their basic research and technical applications. On the one hand, INP aims to carry out application-oriented basic research while on the other hand it aims to optimize and further develop established plasma-assisted procedures and plasma products.

The INP Greifswald is seeking to recruit a qualified scientist or engineer to support our team in the north-east of Germany, close to the Baltic Sea. This full-time position (currently 40 hours per week) is available starting earliest from April 1st 2014 and will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 24 months plus 12 months extension (optional).  As usual for employment contracts of INP, there is a probation period of 6 months.

Field of activity:
The INP seeks for new themes/areas/concepts in low temperature plasma research. Therefore we expect potential candidates to submit a 1-2 page summary of their concept. The scope of the planned project is spanned from 1-3 Post Doc positions for a period of up to 2 (+1) years in a scientific area which fits to current INP activities or is an added value to it.

Professional qualification and personal requirements:
The successful candidate(s) will be self-motivated, enthusiastic team player(s), eager to join our institute. An excellent doctorate degree in science or engineering is expected. The position further requires good communication, presentation and writing skills. In general candidates should have already accumulated at least 2 years of relevant working experience.
