We are looking for a post-doc with excellent academic abilities and possibly experience with participating in (inter)national projects. You have completed a PhD in chem- or bioinformatics or -statistics, or one of the natural sciences, for example, biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, or equivalent, and preferably one or more years of post-doc experience. Publications (e.g. papers, open source software) showing experience with applying computational approaches and multivariate statistics to solve biological and chemical problems is preferred.
We are looking for a prospective post-doc with:
A background in a chem-, bio- informatics or statistics field, or material science, toxicology, or nanotechnology
An affinity for data integration issues (e.g. ontologies) and quantitative methods (e.g. regression methods) as used in systems biology;
Good organisational skills;
Experience with applying computational methods and/or multivariate statistics;
Experience with scientific software development and publishing results (version control, issue trackers, documentation, build systems, release management);
Interest in using and willingness to advocate Open Science approaches;
Willingness to contribute to the bioinformatics education given by our department;
Willingness to relocate to (the vicinity of) Maastricht.
The post-doc will be supervised by Dr. Egon Willighagen and Prof. Dr. Chris Evelo. The position will be based at Maastricht University.
