PhD positions at Max Planck Research School in Berlin

There are fully funded PhD positions in bioinformatics available at the International Max Planck Research School for Computational Biology and Scientific Computing (IMPRS-CBSC) in Berlin, Germany, starting September 2015.

We invite applications for a 3-year PhD program aimed at students holding a master's or comparable degree in bioinformatics, mathematics, physics, computer science, or biology. Students with a degree in mathematics, computer science and physics are expected to have some knowledge of the biological background, whereas students with a degree in biology should be able to demonstrate profound knowledge in mathematics and computer science.
The degree should be awarded before August 2015.

Areas of research include molecular dynamics, mathematical modelling, evolutionary genomics, computational systems biology, proteomics. Please check our website www.molgen.mpg.de/IMPRS for details about work carried out by our faculty members.
The IMPRS-CBSC is a joint program between the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics, the Freie Universität Berlin and the CAS-MPG Partner Institute for Computational Biology, Shanghai. The program language is English.

Please apply online (http://www.molgen.mpg.de/en/IMPRS/application) before 1st of March, 2015 or contactkelleher@molgen.mpg.de for any further questions.
