Within the framework of the project “Seebeck Gas Sensors” funded by the German Science Foundation, the research associate conducts surface and material analyses to study the surface chemistry and electronic proper-ties of epitaxial and nanocrystalline oxide films as well as their variation by adsorbates, mainly using electron spectroscopy.  Goal is a thorough characterization and optimization of thin semiconductor films for realization of reliable and sensitive Seebeck gas sensor systems. Willingness for a partial engagement in teaching activities of the institute (seminars or practical courses) is expected.

Further tasks are:
• Contributions to the preparation of scientific publications and project documentations
• Co-supervision of Bachelor and Master students

Required Qualifications:
• excellent Master of Science or equivalent degree in physics, chemistry or materials science
