Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Organoiron Chemistry

£31,342 - £35,256 per annum

You will carry out collaborative research in the group of Prof. Robin Bedford at the University of Bristol. The primary research responsibilities will be on the study of the mechanisms of iron-catalysed carbon-carbon bond-forming processes. This post is funded by EPSRC and funding is available for up to 2.5 years.

Critical Experience and Skills:
PhD in synthetic organometallic chemistry or equivalent or have submitted their thesis by the start date
Highly-skilled practical chemist with experience of synthesising and handling extremely air-sensitive species
Good chemical knowledge and understanding, particularly in the areas of organometallic chemistry and spectroscopy
Ability to work productively in an independent way, by planning and organising your own activities, and drawing on expertise relating to the different aspects of the project

Desirable skills:
Experience in the spectroscopic characterisation of paramagnetic molecules
Experience in computational chemistry
Experience in kinetics studies of catalytic reactions
Experience in electrochemistry
