PhD Position-1 (DST-SERB funded)

The successful candidate is expected to use advanced electrospinning machine to synthesis of single, core-shell nanofiber to prepare prototype air filter.

Air pollution around the world has endangered human health. The impact of air pollution is huge in terms of health, crop productivity and environmental costs. 23 percent of the global disease burden is attributable to the environmental pollution, and some 3.7 million premature deaths yearly are caused due to outdoor air pollution alone (WHO).

Qualifications: First Class or Equivalent in M.Sc./M.Tech. Background in materials science, physics, chemistry or related fields. Those who have appeared for their Master’s degree examinations and are awaiting the results can also apply.

Desirable: Preference will be given to NET/GATE/any national level PhD. entrance test qualified candidates.

Fellowship: Rs 25,000 per month +admissible HRA (for GATE/NET qualified students)

                      Rs 16,000 per month + admissible HRA (for others)

PhD Position-2

The successful candidate is expected to use existing equipment and develop novel approaches to explore the synthesis of different type of nanostructure for photocatalysis and devices.

Qualifications: First Class or Equivalent in M.Sc./M.Tech. Background in materials science, physics, chemistry or related fields. Those who have appeared for their Master’s degree examinations and are awaiting the results can also apply.

Desirable: Preference will be given to NET/GATE/any national level PhD. entrance test qualified candidates.

Fellowship: SRM University fellowship. Rs.16000/ for Fellowship and NET qualified candidates will be offered additional perquisites.
