A new Special Issue of the Journal of Nanoengineering and Nanosystems was recently published. Comprised of 2 parts, the issue focuses on the Mechanics of Materials from Nano to Macro Scale, and both parts are currently free to view online. To access the articles you can click on the links below:Part 1Part 2The issues feature several high-quality articles on Mechanics of Materials from Nano to Macro Scale, which represents an opportunity to generate novel concepts to initiate a new paradigm of material science. The contributions broadly focus on multiscale modeling and experimentations of material systems, and demonstrate the importance of fundamental mechanistic insight at multiple length/time scales to arrive at a systematic understanding of distinct materials and structures. These efforts have emerged as an exciting field in which the combination of materials science and engineering facilitates breakthroughs in fundamental and applied research. Many exciting research opportunities exist in particular, to understand how structure and properties are related at multiple scales, and to identify the universal concepts across several scales. The development of material models that incorporate multiplelength/time scales, associated with validation experiments, theoretical concepts and numerical simulations will eventually result in a set of tested approaches to probe multiscale mechanics. For more articles from the journal visit the home page.
