Confirmed the award for the best poster on Healthcare and Wellbeing at #NanotechItaly2013, sponsored by Veneto Nanotech and dedicated to the memory of Giovanna Cadini

3439923898?profile=originalLast year Giorgio Speranza, senior researcher at the Bruno Kessler Foundation in Trento, received the first Veneto Nanotech Prize in Memory of Giovanna Cadini. Aim of his work, awarded during the opening session of the Healthcare session at NanotechItaly 2012, is to reduce the negative consequences of chemotherapy, synthesizing nanovectors (smart material stands) for the controlled release of drugs.

Also this year, a jury of experts will select the winner of the prize of 1,000 euros among the abstracts presented for the Healthcare and Wellbeing session.

«We believe it is essential to support and enhance young researchers engaged in applied research in nanomedicine, whose aim is to improve the quality of people's lives, with a direct impact on society, – explains Trevisan, managing director of Veneto Nanotech. – Giovanna Cadini, wonderful person and colleague, failed to win his fight, but we hope that the research will help many other people to defeat diseases such as cancer».
