NANOIMMUNOTECH is a new European company in the nanobiotechnology sector, founded in August 2009.
NANOIMMUNOTECH core business consists in the bioconjugation of micro/nanoparticles and biomolecules aiming to massively simplify the production of conjugates that are needed for research and for biotechnological applications in different sectors (biomedical, pharmaceutics, cosmetics, veterinary, agro-food, environmental, etc.) www.nanoimmunotech.eu

The candidate will report to the R&D Director and will be part of a team of experts working on the biomedical/biotechnological application of a new bioconjugation technology that allows to create different types of conjugates among biomolecules, drugs, nanoparticles, among others. The mainDuties and Responsibilities of this position are:

  • Responsible for conducting research on different bioconjugates applications including flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry, ELISA, ELISpot, Western blotting/immunoblotting, Southern blotting, Northern blotting, dot blot/slot blot, reporter assays including enzymatic and fluorescent assays (FLISA, Iimunofluorescence, microarrays, life imaging, FISH), cytotoxicity studies, magnetic hyperthermia, purification (magnetic separation and affinity purification), immunoprecipitation, etc.
  • Responsible for creating detailed Project Plans including scientific approaches and realistic deliverables within timelines.
  • Preparation of technical documentation to facilitate the elaboration of technical-commercial material.
  • Conduct experiments and prepare reports to support Operations Department (e.g. stability assays, reproducibility, etc.).

      Requirements

  • PhD in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology or similar life science discipline with 3+years experience. Candidates possessing a M.S. degree in a relevant field with 8+ years experience will also be considered.
  • Hands-on experience in several relevant techniques including western blot, immunoblot, dot blot, immunoprecipitation, cellular and bacterial cultures, cell activations and immune system activation assays, cell purification (magnetic separation and affinity purification), reporter assays, ELISAs, ELISpot, flow cytometry, sorting, immunohistochemical and cytochemical staining, cell cycle, apoptosis and cytotoxicity assays.
  • Experience in white fluorescent microscopy, confocal imaging and imaging processing is needed.
  • Prior experience with antibodies generation and purification techniques is highly desirable.
  • Experience in laboratory animal experimentation with mouse, rats and rabbits, including certification, is highly desired.
  • Experience with histology techniques (cryo-sectioning; paraffin embedding and sectioning), and sample preparation skills for electron microscopy will be a plus.
  • We will strongly favor candidates with previous experience in biological applications of nanomaterials.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and the ability to create and successfully implement experimental test plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to work equally well independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Self-motivation and strong attention to detail to efficiently complete tasks outlined in experimental test plans on schedule.
