Bostech is a fast growing high tech company specialising in scientific instruments and technologies including Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) Thin Film Growth and magnetic measurement. We are looking to extend our production and research team to work on our growing product range.

About Us

Founded in 2010 we are located in the IT Centre at York Science Park, situated on the University of York Campus. Specializing in evaporation sources for various thin film growth, Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) and MOKE magnetometers.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a range of people who believe they would be able to fit into the existing company and provide support to the existing team as well as people who believe they would be able to bring their own ideas and innovation to the company.

Our main areas of interest are:
•    Thin film growth techniques for both research and industry
•    UHV systems
•    Magnetic measurement
•    Magneto-optics or Optics

We are looking for a wide range of candidates who have experience or knowledge within the above areas and would be able to demonstrate SOME of the criteria below;

  • A graduate or higher degree in a Physical science or Engineering is preferred but a person with relevant and demonstrable practical experience would be welcomed
  • Experience of production development or publication record in areas relevant to Bostech’s activities and areas of interest
  • Knowledge of UHV system, magnetism and optics
  • Working experience in instrumental development 
  • Practical experience with UHV system design
  •  Practical experience with thin film growth in either academy or industry
  • Practical experience with MOKE measurement equipment
  • Writing and using LabView software and using National instruments data acquisition hardware
