The International Helmholtz Research School for Nanoelectronic Networks (IHRS NANONET) is currently offering 6 PhD Scholarships (M/F) for 3 years.

The IHRS NANONET an initiative of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden - Rossendorf e.V. (HZDR) in a joint collaboration with the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD), Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden (IPF), Fraunhofer Institute for Nondestructive Testing (IZFP), and the Nanoelectronics Materials Laboratory (NaMLab) gGmbH, and supported by the Helmholtz Association. The research school offers an interdisciplinary research training programme in the field of molecular electronics. The 3-years PhD programme includes independent research work in a project involving different divisions of science and engineering and a well structured curriculum providing for a comprehensive training in technical and professional skills.

The programme covers the following topics:
(A) molecular synthesis
(B) electrical contacting of nanoscale electronics
(C) modeling of properties on an atomistic level

The research school is open to highly qualified and motivated doctoral candidates of all nationalities holding or about to earn a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in physics, chemistry, materials science and electrical engineering. The official language of the research school is English; very good oral and written communication skills in the language are required.

The IHRS NANONET is committed to an equal opportunity policy. Admission will be offered to qualified candidates without regard to race, gender, or disability. Please consult our website (www.ihrs-nanonet.de) for further information and to access the online application portal. Incomplete and post-deadline applications will be disregarded. The application deadline is 15 August 2012.
