Abstracts: Nanostructured ZnO powder was synthesised by a simple chemical route. The material was characterised by XRD, UV, SEM and TEM techniques. XRD and TEM studies confirm that a nanostructured ZnO is obtained by using simple chemical route. The nanopowder was fired at an optimised temperature of 200°C for 1/2 h. The prepared powder had crystallite size in the range from 19 to 41 nm. Thick films of synthesised ZnO powder were prepared by screen printing technique. The gas sensing performances of these films for various gases were tested. Films showed highest response to H2S (100 ppm) gas at 300°C temperature with poor responses to others. The quick response and fast recovery are the main features of this sensor. The effects of microstructure, operating temperature and gas concentration on the gas response, selectivity,
response time and recovery time of the sensor in the presence of H2S gas and others were studied and discussed.

I do have observed that ZnO is relatively fast in gas detection. Very good article. Congratulations

Welcome

Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.

There is only one important assumption: you have to be interested in nano!
