Early Stage Researcher - Amiens, France

The successful candidate(s), employed by UPJV will work on a Modelling of domain self-organization and dynamics in ferroelectric and multiferroic materials (nano-films, polar nanoclusters etc…) for application in ultra-high-frequency devices. She/He will develop a general method, based on the coupling of a Ginzburg-Landau approach with the electrostatic and elastic equations, for studying the electrodynamic response of various ferroelectric, complex nano-materials and devices. The principal objective will be to understand the multi-scale dynamics of self organized nano-domains in systems that exhibit spontaneous polarization: structured ferroelectric films, nano-particles and nano-rods, relaxors with built-in polar nano-clusters. The study will make use of physical and mathematical approaches, as well as of numerical simulations. Its principal feature will be the elaboration of adequate models for the analysis of electric polarizations in static and dynamic regimes. These models will be extensively studied analytically, then numerically, using finite difference and finite element approximations and ab-initio simulations, based on optimization techniques, and high performance computing.
